“Bill Nelson and Andrew Gillum know that the elections this fall will determine the future of health care, wages, education and more in Florida, especially for the state’s African-American communities,” said Guy Cecil, Chairman of Priorities USA Action. “Priorities is thrilled to work with AFT to support these candidates because we know Bill Nelson and Andrew Gillum understand the issues that African-American voters face in their daily lives and because we know they’ll fight tirelessly for them and their families.”

“With the start of early voting rapidly approaching, African-American voters are looking for candidates who both speak authentically and honestly about their concerns and have real plans to help their community,” said Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers. “Andrew Gillum and Bill Nelson are proven champions for higher wages, affordable health care, public education and environmental justice, and AFT is proud to partner with Priorities to make sure that African-American voters throughout Florida know exactly who is standing with them.”
