Statement from Priorities USA Chairman Guy Cecil on Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s Victory
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Priorities USA Chairman Guy Cecil issued the following statement in response to Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s successful re-election campaign:
“Senator Cortez Masto is a staunch defender of Nevadans’ top priorities, including building a strong economy and making health care more affordable. This historic victory ensures that Catherine can continue fighting for working-class Nevadans.
“This cycle, Priorities invested $2.9 million directly into online outreach to Nevada voters. Priorities partnered with NARAL, Somos Votantes and Somos PAC to amplify the high stakes of this election and reach key constituencies of voters. This included targeted campaigns to reach Latino voters and specifically young Latino voters who were decisive in this election.
“Since 2015, Priorities has also made deep investments to protect and expand voting rights. In Nevada, Priorities blocked two attempts by Republicans to enact restrictive voter ID laws.
“With this key victory, I know Nevadans’ strong working-class communities will thrive under Senator Cortez Masto’s experienced leadership in the Senate.”
