RELEASE: Priorities USA Action Files FEC Complaint Against Future Coalition PAC
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Priorities USA Action filed a Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint against Future Coalition PAC.
Future Coalition PAC is a Republican-led PAC running anti-Semitic targeted digital ads airing in Muslim-American and Arab-American communities in Michigan. The ads tout Kamala Harris’ policies on Israel and Doug Emhoff’s Jewish faith in a positive tone, a weakly veiled attempt to undercut her support among Michiganders. The ads were recently discovered and reported in the Huffington Post, New York Times and CNN.
Since its infancy on July 3, 2024, Future Coalition PAC has only filed two financial disclosure reports, despite the fact that they triggered 48 hour reporting obligations by airing independent expenditures. Future Coalition PAC has spent $136,000 so far online and failed to regularly file the 48 hour reports that correspond with this spending.
“Future Coalition PAC’s anti-Semitic targeted ads are an assault on the principles of justice and equality, and they are putting hatred front and center in this election,” said Priorities Executive Director Danielle Butterfield. “These shady tactics are just another Republican trick to divide Americans. We urge the FEC to take swift action to hold bad actors accountable, provide transparency and protect the integrity of the democratic process.”
The complaint to the FEC states:
This complaint is filed pursuant to 52 U.S.C. § 30109(a)(1) and is based on information and belief that Future Coalition PAC (ID: C00882555), a Super PAC, and Ray Zaborney, the treasurer of Future Coalition PAC (collectively, the “Respondents”), violated the Federal Election Campaign Act (“Act”), as amended, 52 U.S.C. § 30101, et seq., and Federal Election Commission (“Commission”) regulations by failing to comply with 48-hour reporting requirements for its independent expenditures.
