Priorities USA Action Expands Investment in Arizona with New Bilingual Latino Digital Ad and Additional TV Buys
Priorities USA Action is expanding its investment in Arizona as the state continues to move in Vice President Biden’s direction and away from Trump. Priorities is extending its TV and digital buys in the state, and expanding its seven-figure digital program specifically targeted to Latino voters. In July alone, Priorities is set to spend over $1 million in Arizona. In recent tracking, Arizona has shown more movement than any other battleground state.
Along with this increased investment, Priorities is releasing a new digital ad, “Enough,” targeting Latino voters in the key states of Florida and Arizona who have been disproportionately hurting from the disastrous consequences of Trump’s failure to lead. Running in English and in Spanish, “Enough” highlights how Trump’s failed leadership has only worsened the multiple crises we’re facing, adding even more chaos at a time when our country is in pain.
From a health perspective, the COVID-19 infection rate among Latinos has far outpaced the rest of the country’s. While Latinos make up 18% of the population, they make up 34% of cases nationwide. And then there’s the economic impact of Trump’s inaction. A recent survey conducted by Latino Decisions on behalf of Priorities USA and Latino Victory Fund found that roughly half of Latinos in FL and AZ reported that they or someone in their household had lost a job or taken a pay cut because of the coronavirus crisis, while a similar number had trouble affording essential expenses like housing, food and medicine. As if that weren’t enough, Trump has been showcasing his violent and authoritarian tendencies, raising concerns among many Latinos whose families came to the United States escaping abuse of power and with the dream of living in a true democracy.
Weathering crises on multiple fronts, Latinos are increasingly concerned with the direction that Donald Trump has been taking this country, and they don’t believe he possesses the qualities needed to steer the country back in a positive direction.
“We’re seeing Trump pay the price for his disastrous policies. Arizona’s recent numbers show that the state has had enough of Trump’s failure to lead, presenting a unique opportunity for Democrats,” said Priorities USA Action Executive Director Patrick McHugh. “Latino voters are key to deciding who wins Arizona. Our research is telling us they want a leader who can bring people together and lead us through these trying times, and that leader is Joe Biden.”
Priorities USA Action has spent almost $2 million per week on advertising in key battleground states. The seven-figure Latino program is part of Priorities’ commitment to spend over $200 million through the end of the year to defeat Donald Trump and ensure that Joe Biden is the next President of the United States.
