RELEASE: With 50 Days Until the 2024 Election, Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona and Priorities USA Action Launch New Digital Ads Targeting Black Voters

September 16, 2024

Phoenix, Ariz. — On Monday, September 16th, Our Voice, Our Vote Arizona (OVOV AZ) and Priorities USA Action jointly launched a six-figure digital buy with two new ads urging Black voters in the battleground state to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the November election.

The ad launch is part of OVOV AZ’s Power Of Us campaign, a broad effort to knock on 1 million voters’ doors, register new voters, and build Black civic power in Arizona. It also is part of Priorities’ “Margins Project” program, which aims to reach every voter of color, no matter what zip code they live in battleground states.

“The choice Arizonans have to make this November is which America they want to live in — the America that works only for the wealthy and well-connected, or one that works for all of us,” said Sena Mohammed, executive director of OVOV AZ. “Historically, plenty of people have overlooked Black voters in Arizona, but they do so at their own risk. We hold the power to decide this election. In 2020, Biden won in Arizona by 11,000 votes. There are 20 times that many Black voters. We want Black voters to know that they have the power to choose the future of Arizona and America as a whole.”

“Black voters were a critical force in flipping Arizona in 2020. Now, we need to earn their support again to grow our margin of victory and elect Kamala Harris President of the United States,” said Ryanne Brown, Managing Director of Paid Media at Priorities. “Half of Black Arizonans live in neighborhoods where not everyone looks like them. It’s crucial that we reach these, and all, Black voters on the issues that matter to them and their lived experience. Priorities is proud to leverage our digital expertise alongside a partner so deeply embedded in Black communities across Arizona.”

“Serving” highlights the contrast between Donald Trump’s dangerous and extreme agenda against Vice President Kamala Harris’s forward-looking vision for the nation.

“Dr. Taylor” shares Arizona OBGYN Dr. DeShawn Taylor’s concern about Donald Trump’s extreme national abortion ban.

“With 50 days to go until the election, now is the time to engage voters and make sure they know what’s at stake this November,” said Reginald Bolding, co-founder of OVOV AZ. “Abortion rights, voting rights, clean air, and a fair economy for all are literally and figuratively on the ballot in Arizona. Our votes could make all the difference.”

The ads will run through November on YouTube, streaming TV, Instagram and Snap.
