Priorities USA Action and BlackPAC Announce New Radio Ad Reaching Black Voters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

October 29, 2020

Priorities USA Action and BlackPAC are releasing a new radio ad as part of an ongoing $400,000 partnership between the two organizations specifically aimed at reaching Black voters in the Philadelphia area through radio advertising.

The ad, “Change The Course,” emphasizes Donald Trump’s disregard for the health and safety of Black communities during the coronavirus pandemic while he downplayed the threat to protect himself. The ad also directly addresses Trump’s acceptance and amplification of white supremacists and his hostility toward calls for justice.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will fight to create economic opportunity and a better, more equitable health care system for all Americans. The Biden-Harris White House will work to heal the divisions and hate that the Trump administration has stoked.

Priorities USA Action and BlackPAC, in partnership with Mike Bloomberg, have also invested $3.4 million in TV ads meant to reach Black voters in Florida. Pennsylvania and Florida are key states that provide Joe Biden multiple paths to win 270 electoral votes. A crucial base of the Democratic Party, Black voters are likely to determine the outcome of the presidential election in these battleground states.

“Priorities is grateful for BlackPAC’s partnership in our joint effort to reach every voter with a persuasive, culturally competent message. BlackPAC’s insight and expertise has been invaluable to the success of our program,” said Guy Cecil, Chairman of Priorities USA. “Since the beginning of this cycle, our goal has remained the same. We set out to reach every voter where they spend their time and get their information in the states that will determine the outcome of this election. Black voters are the base of the Democratic Party — we knew that any successful program would require an early and significant investment in reaching this community. I am proud of what we’ve accomplished alongside our allies like BlackPAC in the fight to defeat Donald Trump and elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.”

“We’ve known from the outset of this cycle that Black voters in Philadelphia will make the difference in this election and that we would need to engage the most effective strategies to reach them where they are,” said Adrianne Shropshire, Executive Director of BlackPAC. “In this final push, we’re doing everything we can to ensure Black voters know that in this moment our strength lies in our vote. We’re proud to have such a committed and steadfast partner in Priorities USA Action as we mobilize Black voters to oust Trump and elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House.”
