Priorities USA Action and Senate Majority PAC Launch Six-Figure Digital Ad Campaign Raising Questions About Josh Hawley’s Self-Serving Conduct as Attorney General

Washington, DC — Priorities USA Action and Senate Majority PAC are launching a six-figure digital ad campaign highlighting numerous incidents throughout Josh Hawley’s tenure as attorney general when he has placed his own political ambitions ahead of his duty to clean up corruption in Jefferson City.

The statewide campaign will focus on Hawley’s questionable relationships with the wealthy donors that have funded his campaigns. This includes Hawley’s biggest donor, who became embroiled in an alleged pay-to-play scheme that Hawley declined to investigate. Additionally, the campaign will ensure that Missourians don’t forget about Hawley’s failure to investigate former governor Eric Greitens—who donated nearly $50,000 to his campaign—until it became politically convenient to do so.

The ads will run across a variety of platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Pandora and cable and broadcast news streaming services. Additionally, voters will see the ads as website banners and in Google searches. To view examples of the ads, click here and here.

“Josh Hawley said he would clean up Jefferson City, but since getting there, he’s proven that he’s just another politician trying to climb the ladder,” said Josh Schwerin, Communications Director for Priorities USA Action. “Hawley has spent his career putting the interests of his donors ahead of the interests of Missouri families, and now he’s asking voters for a promotion so he can do his donors’ bidding from Washington. Priorities and SMP are committed to ensuring that Missouri families continue to have a senator who fights for working people, not the rich and powerful.”

“Josh Hawley is part of the culture of corruption in Jefferson City, and his number one priority is his career in politics,” said Chris Hayden, spokesperson for SMP. “As attorney general Josh Hawley has failed the people of Missouri. Time and time again Hawley has shown that when given the choice between protecting his wealthy donors or fighting for Missourians, he will always choose to protect his donors. Missouri families voters deserve a senator who puts their needs first, and Josh Hawley has made it clear, the needs of his donors come first.”
