PRIORITIES USA ACTION ANNOUNCES NEW DIGITAL ADS IN VIRGINIA GOVERNOR’S RACE

Digital Ads Will Target Persuadable Voters Throughout Last Stretch of Campaign

Washington — Today, Priorities USA Action announced the latest phase of its six-figure campaign to inform voters about Ed Gillespie’s shameful record of putting the interests of his corporate clients ahead of the needs of Virginia families. Priorities USA Action is working with several national and local progressive groups on an innovative $2 million coordinated digital campaign to help elect Ralph Northam.

In the coming days, Priorities will be launching new digital ads highlighting Gillespie’s history of lobbying and strategizing on behalf of corporations that laid off hundreds of Virginia workers.  This builds on existing ads being run with Virginia LCV highlighting Gillespie’s work for companies that have polluted the state, as well as a round of ads emphasizing Northam’s work as a doctor and commitment to protecting Virginians’ access to health care. The campaign will reach voters on a variety of platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, Pandora, and CBS Sports’ streaming service. To view examples of the ads, click here and here.

“Virginians deserve a governor who will stand up for them and their families, not one who will sell them out to his Washington special interest clients,” said Patrick McHugh, executive director of Priorities USA Action. “As we enter the last few weeks of the campaign, Priorities is committed to making sure voters know about Ed Gillespie’s long record of cashing in from companies that have polluted the environment and destroyed Virginia jobs.”

Priorities USA Action has been supporting the effort to elect Ralph Northam as governor of Virginia through a first-of-its-kind digital partnership with the Virginia League of Conservation PAC, Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC and NextGen America. Last month, Priorities also contributed to the digital effort leading to the successful election of Annette Taddeo to the Florida State Senate.
