Guy Cecil, Chairman of Priorities USA, issued the following statement in response to John Fetterman’s election as Pennsylvania’s next senator:
“I congratulate Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman on his successful campaign to be Pennsylvania’s next senator.
“John endured mudslinging and personal attacks from his Republican opposition, worked through his own recovery and kept fighting to build a broad, diverse coalition from every corner of Pennsylvania. I am confident that he will bring that same resolve to the United States Senate.
“This was an incredibly close race and Priorities is proud of our work in Pennsylvania to mobilize and persuade voters. Through our numerous partnerships with NARAL Pro-Choice America, Black Progressive Action Coalition and Commonwealth Communications, Priorities was able to reach voters all across the state with effective, engaging online programs.
“In partnership with Senate Majority PAC, Priorities ran a $17 million digital program focused on persuading and mobilizing undecided and infrequent Pennsylvania voters by communicating the stakes of this election and the issues that matter most.
“Priorities’ digital programming included campaigns aimed at Black and Latino communities highlighting the stakes of the election while providing resources to register and turn out to vote.
“This win was also secured in spite of overt attempts to suppress the vote by Republicans in Pennsylvania. Just weeks before Election Day, Priorities won a critical lawsuit against a GOP effort to restrict ballot drop boxes in the commonwealth.”
