Priorities USA Action and Senate Majority PAC Launch New $1 Million Digital Ad Campaign About Rick Scott Getting Rich from Companies that Hurt Floridians

October 19, 2018

Washington, DC — Priorities USA Action and Senate Majority PAC are launching a new digital ad campaign highlighting how Rick Scott has focused on increasing his personal wealth during his time as governor by investing in companies that have hurt Florida communities.

During his time in office, Scott held investments in corporations that have polluted Floridians’ drinking water, constructed pipelines through their communities and been accused of price gouging customers for medicine.

The ads will run statewide across a broad range of platforms where voters are consuming content online, including Facebook, Google, YouTube and Pandora.

“Throughout his time as governor, Rick Scott has turned his back on the people of Florida. He has sold them out to his friends in the insurance industry and has put their wellbeing at risk while ensuring his own personal gain,” said Guy Cecil, Chairman of Priorities USA Action. “Now more than ever, Floridians need someone who will fight for their needs, not someone who only cares about lining his own pockets with cash. Priorities and SMP are proud to partner on this campaign to ensure that the people of Florida know that Rick Scott has only been working for himself in Tallahassee and would do the same in the Senate.”

“As governor, Rick Scott enriched himself and his cronies while Florida paid the price,” said J.B. Poersch, President of SMP. “Rick Scott benefitted from lucrative investments in companies that disrupted and harmed communities across Florida. If Rick Scott made it to the Senate he would use his power to help himself and abuse the people of Florida even further, and SMP and Priorities are committed to making sure that never happens.”
