Priorities USA Action and Commonwealth Communications Announce $1 Million Digital Investment Against Mastriano’s Extremism in Pennsylvania

October 21, 2022

Washington, D.C. — Today, Priorities USA Action and Commonwealth Communications announced a $1 million digital ad campaign to mobilize Pennsylvanians against Doug Mastriano’s extreme position on abortion and his presence at the January 6th insurrection.

The ads will run until Election Day and speak directly to voters on the stakes of the election and the threat of GOP extremism.

This cycle, Priorities has committed over $7 million to reaching voters in Pennsylvania.

Priorities’ research and conversations with voters have shown that abortion is consistently a leading issue among likely voters across demographic groups, even before the Dobbs decision was released. Additionally, voters have increasingly tuned into news about GOP extremism at large. This ad campaign tells voters the truth about the Republican Party’s association with extremism through their promotion of insurrections, voter suppression, election conspiracies and racism.

“Even as the Dobbs decision has engaged millions of voters who want to protect abortion rights, we know that there is still work to be done to translate this engagement into action. That’s why Priorities is leveraging digital platforms where voters spend their time to highlight the threat Republicans like Doug Mastriano pose to Pennsylvania. We are proud to partner with Commonwealth Communications to make this case to voters online,” said Priorities USA Action Deputy Executive Director Nick Ahamed. “As Election Day draws closer, Democrats must be diligent and continue to draw a sharp contrast to an extremist Republican Party that continues to chip away at our fundamental freedoms like abortion rights and dismantle our democracy.”

“Every voter must understand the danger of Doug Mastriano and their power to decide Pennsylvania’s future,” said Executive Director J.J. Abbott of Commonwealth Communications. “We all need to do our part to mobilize voters with effective messages talking about the stakes of the election, and support organizing on the ground. This partnership with Priorities USA enables us to reach many important voters in Pennsylvania that too often are overlooked and get them ready to vote against extreme Republicans like Doug Mastriano on Nov. 8.”
