Democratic Groups Launch Joint Digital & Field Campaign in OH-12 Special
Washington, DC – Today, House Majority PAC, Priorities USA Action and For Our Future announced the launch of a joint $140,000 investment in a digital and field campaign for the special election in Ohio’s 12th congressional district.
The campaign will run through the day of the special election on August 7. It will include a digital advertising program run by Priorities USA Action focusing on Balderson’s support for the tax giveaway to corporate special interests that raises taxes on hardworking families, increases health care premiums and skyrockets the debt, which will be paid for by cuts to Medicare and Social Security. The ads will run on Facebook, Pandora, Spotify, YouTube and Google, and will include a non-skippable video ad, titled “Simple,” which can be viewed here.
The investment will also support a canvassing program on the ground run by For Our Future to help get out the vote in the OH-12 special election with a goal of knocking on more than 25,000 doors. FOF will also layer voter contact on the doors with early vote and GOTV digital ads on Facebook.
“It’s clear that Troy Balderson would only look out for himself and corporate special interests in Washington instead of the middle class in Ohio,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Charlie Kelly. “House Majority PAC is proud to partner with Priorities USA Action and For Our Future – investing both in field and a range of new media platforms to go on offense in this red district. From front doors to digital platforms, we’re going to make sure voters know Balderson sure doesn’t stand with them on the critical kitchen table issues defining this election and would cost them more.”
“Ohioans deserve better than Troy Balderson and his plan to cut Medicare and Social Security in order to pay for massive tax breaks for billionaires and special interests,” said Patrick McHugh, Executive Director of Priorities USA Action. “This race is competitive in large part because Balderson has chosen to side with the rich and corporations instead of fighting for better jobs and higher wages for hardworking Americans. Priorities, HMP and For Our Future are committed to ensuring that Troy Balderson never makes it to Washington to enact his radical agenda.”
“We are proud to partner with House Majority PAC and Priorities USA Action in this special election,” said Justin Myers, CEO of For Our Future. “And we’re especially proud that the For Our Future Ohio team has been in communities since March – organizing, knocking on doors, and listening to voters about issues that matter to their families and communities.”
“Our team is ready to get the vote out and channel the tremendous energy we’re seeing on the ground,” said For Our Future Ohio State Director Antonia Webb. “Danny O’Connor’s commitment to protecting access to quality health care and creating more economic opportunities for working families stands in stark contrast to Troy Balderson’s support for a massive tax giveaway to the richest one percent, and his attacks on health care and opposition to the Medicaid expansion.”
